Clothing

The shirt and jacket should be a solid colour. Busy patterns are not flattering and take away from the face.

Hair and Make-up

Female do not to use an oily foundation and powder your face for a matte finish. Men it is best to photograph them in the morning when they have recently shaved.

If there is sufficient lead-time, it is always advisable that the client gets a hair trim within a week before their portrait.

Space and Time

After discussing the kind of images you are looking for, the location and time for the shoot needs to be booked. Give as many interior and exterior options for the photographer to choose from. A large room with natural light gives the most options and great light!

Time requirements; the time to scout the different locations and set up, the time required to have your client photographed, and the time to pack up the equipment. Depending on how many different styles you are looking for, your client will be needed anywhere from a half-hour to an hour and a half. Keep in mind morning shoots produce a fresher looking image.

The Process

With in 24 hours of the shoot your images will be posted on www.janettrost.com under the client tab. The password will be emailed to you. Next choose which photos you would like to have retouched and place your order with Janet at janet@trostphotography.com. Please mention any retouching requests with your image numbers. All image numbers are found at the bottom of each image. Retouching is priced at $150.00 per hour. Each photo takes ½ to 1 hour to retouch.
